Salmon River Tours and the Ram House is 100% UNAFFILIATED with the official “Mackay Bar”

SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT FOR FUTURE GUESTS OF MACKAY BAR OUTFITTERS & GUEST RANCH.

Mackay Bar Outfitters & Guest Ranch (otherwise known as Mackay Bar) has decided to post a blog to clarify a situation,  so that no other future prospective guests of Mackay Bar Outfitters & Guest Ranch mistakenly book a vacation with Rams House, a property that sits above the historic and long standing “Mackay Bar” commercial outfitting and guest lodge along Idaho’s Salmon River.

It has happened in the 2017 season, where guests thought they were booking a group vacation with Mackay Bar.   They actually paid their deposit to Salmon River Tours and/or Rams House Lodge thinking they would be staying at the historic “Mackay Bar”.All inclusive family vacation destination

So we’re hoping to outline some of this information that separates the misconceptions.  Our motive is to simply help future guests to avoid a costly mistaken booking,  by letting you know who is who.

Al Tice started the “Mackay Bar” commercial lodge as well as the outfitting and guiding business operations that went with Mackay Bar in the 1950s. Around 1969, Bob Hansburger purchased the operations from Al and continued to make Mackay Bar the symbolic and renowned treasure that Mackay Bar is today to the state of Idaho.  Using the licensed commercial outfitting operations he owned in conjunction with the impressive 21 acre Salmon River riverfront property, Bob used iconic treasures such as Chamberlain Basin and the Salmon River to create an outfitting dynasty a cut above all others in Idaho. Many from around the United States recognize and can affiliate with the historic Idaho treasure that is named “Mackay Bar”.

Buck and Joni Dewey, current owners of Mackay Bar Outfitters and Guest Ranch, purchased the historic and long standing “Mackay Bar” commercial outfitting business and private grounds/lodge/guest quarters in 2012. They have worked extremely hard over the years to completely remodel and restore the historic lodge, grounds and guest quarters and to establish a five star reputation that gains them a tremendous network of word of mouth referrals. What they have crafted for valued guests who stay at Mackay Bar is truly a cut above the ordinary.   Just read some of the wonderful reviews that guests post at TripAdvisor.

Mackay Bar Outfitters & Ranch prides itself  on all aspects of the guest experience at Mackay Bar from stylish lodging, delicious home cooked meals, and amenities to the fun activities and special events we host,  and of course the personalized hospitality that tops off your stay at the ranch.

So we’re taking this opportunity to set the record straight to deter future public confusion. Several main differences between the two separate businesses are:
